At Dogusan, we have been providing two-stroke maintenance services for more than four decades. We have developed efficient procedures and our know-how for the benefit of vessel managers and power plant operators. Our two-stroke engineers and specialist technicians can perform routine maintenance during Drydock or emergency repairs.
The crankshaft is the most critical part of the engine and suffers the heaviest loads during operation. We undertake dozens of crankshafts overhauling projects every year for marine and power generation applications at the port and while end voyage. We have vast experience in preparation requirements and overhaul—inspection procedures, assembly, alignment, re-choking, and engine testing after repairs.
Exhaust valves and seats are operating under extreme pressures and temperatures.
It is natural that despite the special alloys used, mating surfaces are worn resulting in blow-by of exhaust gases, while on the bottom side of the spindle surface thermal cracks are developed.
At Dogusan, we can recondition all types of valve spindles including Nimonic, DuraSpindle, and Stellite.
We can perform any repair on tailshafts, including laser cladding of worn journals, general machining, fabrication and installation of liners, reconditioning by laser cladding of chrome liners, and by using specialized tools, in situ machining of tailshaft journals.
The ability to repair shafts by laser cladding, our manufacturing capacity, and our ability to machine shafts both at our heavy-duty machine shop lathes and by using specialized in situ machines enable us to provide a cost-effective repair solution saving money and time for our customers.
Similarly, we can repair any kind of shaft including but not limited to rudder stock, intermediate shaft, alternator shaft, windlass shaft.
Due to improper lubrication or misalignment, stern tubes may often suffer by wear or damages on the white metal lining that why needs to be re-coating. Stern tube bearings are usually manufactured by a cast-iron outer liner with an internal layer of white metal. Dogusan can perform re-coating of white metal on the stern tube and other bearing types using a specially manufactured centrifugal white metal casting machine. Centrifugal casting is the best method for rabbiting white metal and is accepted by classification societies.
Our machine is PLC control and can handle bearings with a diameter of up to 1 m and a length of 2 meters.
